Girlfriends Retreat Cabo

The Arch

Looking for a Girlfriends Retreat Cabo San Lucas?

Find yourself on a girlfriends retreat Cabo style for a great girls getaway for beach, nightlife, shopping and so much more.

Here are some travel tips and recommendations for your girls trip:

Where: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

When: Anytime

How Long: 5 days

Where to stay:

Solmar/Grand Solmar/Playa Grande Resort/The Ridge or Quinta del Sol

You can choose whichever resort suits your budget and wish list. They are all in a great location to downtown but you are on the Pacific side and you can not swim in the ocean.

Hotel Mar de Cortez

You are right in town but not on the ocean. It is a reasonably priced and highly rated on TripAdvisor.

Casa Dorada Los Cabo

This is a great location, right on Medano Beach and close to downtown Cabo.

Villa del Arco Beach Resort

Is a great resort if you want to stay in San Jose del Cabo. You will be closer to the airport but further from Cabo San Lucas and the restaurants and nightlife.

NOTE: I would definitely recommend staying at an All-Inclusive since the food and drinks are very expensive in Cabo San Lucas.

Things to do during the day:

El Arco de Cabo San Lucas – view The Arch from a water taxi

Hit one of these beaches – Chileno Beach, Lover’s Beach or Medano Beach

Take a day trip with Panterra Eco-Expeditions

Tons of golf courses in Cabo.

Hike Mt Solmar

Shop at El Callejon for traditional Mexican crafts and Necri for gift buying

Or you can find a day party at The Office on the beach or at Mango Deck

Places to go for the nightlife:

Pink Kitty

Cabo Wabo – yes, Sammy Hagar’s place but fun life music and dancing

El Squid Roe – it is crazy with three floors to dance

The Giggling Marlin – there is a nightly dance show

Las Vegas Girlfriend Getaway

Las Vegas Girlfriend Getaway

Las Vegas Girlfriend Getaway

If you are looking for a girlfriend getaway and your girlfriends love glitz, glamour and staying out all night, look no further than Las Vegas! It is also a perfect destination for bachelorette parties.

Here are my travel tips for a Las Vegas girlfriend getaway:

Where to go:

Las Vegas

When to go:

Fall or Spring

How long to stay:

A long weekend

Where to stay:

Cosmopolitan – hip hotel in the middle of the strip

Aria Sky Suites – luxury suites on the strip

Caesar’s Palace – great service and one of the best on the strip

Paris Las Vegas – the next best thing to being in Paris

Top things to do on a Las Vegas girlfriend getaway:

  • Hit the pool and spa at your hotel – Each resort tries to out do one another in the outdoor pools, activities and spas. They make it a daytime club party everyday by the pool.
  • Shopping – You can find every possible store at every possible price range in Vegas.
  • Nightlife – Some of the top night clubs in the country are in Vegas. Be sure to check out Pure in Caesar’s Palace, Ghost Bar in The Palms, Foundation Room in Mandalay Bay, and Marquee at the Cosmopolitan. Ask some of the locals to see which night is the HOT club to be at! Some are only open on certain nights.  Note: Girls have a great chance of getting in with no cover charge.
  • Dining at fabulous restaurants – Of course Vegas has some of the top chefs and restaurants in the country too, everything is better in Vegas!    Check out Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in the Cosmopolitan, The Pink Taco in the Hard Rock Hotel, Café Ile St Louis in Paris Las Vegas, and Serendipity 3 at Caesar’s Palace for something sweet to list a few.
  • See a Cirque du Soleil show – There are 7 different shows in 7 different hotels. The top show in Vegas is O at Bellagio.
  • Gambling – Don’t forget to try your luck at one of the many casinos. The downtown Vegas casinos are a little more inviting for women and a better place for beginners. I have heard the odds are better too.
  • Adventure gals – Try the zipline in downtown Las Vegas over Fremont Street for an exhilarating ride!
  • Light Shows – The Fremont Street Experience is a free, fun light show downtown Las Vegas.
  • Water ShowsThe Fountains of Bellagio dancing water show is a choreographed to music and free. Don’t worry, the water is recycled.

Be sure to pick up the Vegas Guide when you arrive to see what other special events, music or shows are happening while you are there.

The Bryant Park Hotel

Casablanca Hotel Times Square

Here are a few more suggestions:

Courtyard Marriott Midtown East

Affinia Shelburne

Affina Gardens

For a great budget friendly, breakfast included, midtown location, check out:

Comfort Inn Manhattan

Top things to do in New York City:

See all of NYC from the top of the Empire State Building or the top of Rockefeller Center.

Central Park eat at The Loeb Boathouse Central Park Restaurant, take a pedicab tour through the park or rent a bike.

See an off-Broadway or Broadway play

Times Square

Eat at a fabulous restaurant

Recommendation: ABC Kitchen

Other great places to eat:

  • Barrio Chino (in Soho)
  • Cafe Habana (in NoLita, GREAT for brunch, really cramped)
  • Buddakhan (in Meatpacking district good food and atmosphere)
  • South Houston (in Soho/Tribeca neighborhood – good for a drink prior to dinner)
  • Union Pool (bar in Brooklyn – need to take a taxi, but fun place for live music and people watching, loud)
  • Yuca Bar (in the East Village – good little latin cocina, casual)
  • Ocean Grill (Upper West Side – kinda fru fru & spendy)
  • Freeman’s (in Soho-ish/Lower East Side – hidden at the end of an alley – cool, casual)
  • Balthazar (another Soho favorite)
  • Lucien (in Soho – French bistro – small, trendy, VERY good food – good dinner option)
  • Macundo (in Soho, right on Houston – great food and drinks, casual)
  • White Rabbit (in Soho, down from Macundo, nice after dinner bar to chill and have another cocktail at – simple – DJ in the back)
  • Yummy Noodle (in Chinatown)
  • Il Cortille (in Little Italy)

Manicures what is a girlfriend getaway without a stop for manicures. Go to:‎ You can walk right in and get a good basic manicure for $12. Cheap manicures are a dime a dozen in NYC (esp. for this one being in Tribeca), but this was an especially good experience. There are also more good bars and restaurants in that area up/down Broadway in that area too.

  • Madison Avenue for high end designers
  • SoHo for eclectic stores
  • Chinatown for items from all around the world at great prices
  • Times Square for more of the fun stores if you are looking to buy something for your kids back at home
  • Herald Square & The Garment District has every chain store you could ever be looking for

Hit a club or see live music check to see if anything is happening at Madison Square Garden (MSG or The Garden) or the Beacon Theater for a chance to check out some of the best live music venues.

Statue of Liberty go on the boat tour around the Statue of Liberty instead of the crowded tourist tour that takes you to Ellis Island unless of course you have family members that came through Ellis Island.

Tour = Circle Line or the New York Water Taxi – highly recommend, this includes the double decker bus tour through midtown, boat ride by the Statue of Liberty and a hop on hop off taxi to the 9/11 Memorial and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Battery Park is located right by where the ferries take you to Ellis Island. It is a great place to enjoy a beautiful park inside the huge city. There are a lot of memorials and statues within the park. You will even find a marina. What a great place to be when you need a break from walking and all the concrete.

Stone Street Historic District in April – November for great outdoor dining/happy hour fun

Take the pilgrimage to the 9/11 Memorial. Plan ahead and reserve a free visitor pass. Explore the museum and the memorial.

Enjoy your Fabulous girlfriend getaway to NYC!
